Its focus is not only on methods of promoting economic development, economic growth and structural change but also on improving the potential for the mass of the population, for example, through health, education and workplace conditions, whether through public Research at Sciences Po covers economics, law, history, sociology and political science, while also taking in many interdisciplinary topics such as cities, political ecology, sustainable development, socio-economics and globalization. Sciences Po is home to a research community that includes over 200 researchers and 350 PhD candidates. Development economics is the domain of those who wish to be able to explain better the behavior of poor individuals and communities in order that useful predictions and prescriptions might be feasible. Economic development is about learning to effect (hopefully improve) financial situations within a country. It’s about allocating resources to pay for scarce public goods and services. It’s about GDP. The first year is spent at Sciences Po in Paris studying on of the available programs at PSIA (Paris School of International Affairs). The second year is spent at SSE in Stockholm studying a MSc in Business & Management, Economics or Finance.
